Fill Again

This afternoon, a workmate saw me a little sad. I wasn't sad; worried is a more appropriate word. My workmate, P, gave me reminder that I will always keep in mind. He said that I may be disappointed about something, I may be upset ... yet he reminded me that there are so many reasons why I am happy. A LOT MORE.Ü

THE BEST PRANK I EVER PULLED
This was one prank that I did together with one of my best friends, B. We just found out that we didn't have cheering practice that afternoon. We don't know what got into us. We went inside the book bank to get our bags. As we were looking for our bags, we saw the bag of B's crush. We got rocks and put all of them inside his bag.

THE BEST PRANK EVER PULLED ON ME WAS
I don't eat raw food, but one of my friends made me eat something raw. I don't know what it was and I don't know how it was prepared. When I was eating it, it didn't look and taste like it was raw. I only found out months after that I ate raw fish. Eww.

A DAY WITHOUT BLANK IS WASTED.
A day without showing how people who matter that you love them is wasted. If you're the type who isn't good with words, try being expressive of this love through simple gestures. These will matter more. Actions do speak louder than words.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE
These are the people who matter most to you. Life does not have any meaning if you only live for yourself, goes with the old saying that no man is an island. We need to be a blessing to each other; it will make the world a happier and better place to live in.

I DREAM OF
I dream of a vacation right this instant. I want to be at the beach.

I DREAD OF
I dread being alone.

A DISCOVERY I MADE THIS WEEK
I still have my 'superwoman' powers. I am amazed at how I have grown and matured in this field. It looks like I am making a career in this industry. Goodluck to me.

Engaged

I'm so happy for my friends. I give them two thumbs up for coming this far. Hats off to these lovebirds for wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. It is just AMAZING. I wonder how both of them knew that he/she was the one. I wonder if I will ever be engaged, if I will ever get married. I'm such a non-believer. Kind off odd, huh?

PS.
I didn't ask permission to post their photo. Oops. Sorry. Love you K and J.
I will be at your wedding and celebrate that day with you. Promise.

Every single day since the 21st of December, I've been trying very hard to look at things from a different perspective. I'm guessing it will make me understand you better. Agree?

This evening, I got back to the South earlier than usual. I decided to pass by church to light some candles, which I normally do, whenever I leave work early. Today's been a little different. I met, Paolo, the guy who asked my hand for marriage!

While lighting my candles...
P: Hi! I'm Paolo. You're beautiful. What's your name?
R: I'm Russ. How old are you Paolo?
P: I'm 5. What are you doing?
R: Lighting candles & praying for my friends and family.
P: No candle for you?
R: None.
P: This is for you. *And he lights a candle*
Moments later, his Mom walks to where we're standing and tells this adorable little boy to stop bugging me.
P: Mom, she's my friend.
M: Say bye to her already, your dad's waiting.
P: I love you, Russ. Will you marry me?
M: *Had this embarrassed look on her face*
P: We hear mass Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
R: I'm here too most of the time. My mom's with the choir.
P: Visit me in my house! Okay? Please marry me, Russ.
Children say the cutest and funniest things. Don't you just love how candid they can be?

I guess I will see Paolo again because we go to the same Church. Enjoy the weekend everyone, stay safe!

Consider this a delayed reaction on my part. I've heard of the news, but only had the chance to see this last Sunday while Skype-ing with D.

Reports say that former Tourism U-Sec Vicente Romano II spent a whopping 4-million bucks on this. I would like to think that this is not true. In my mind, this amount should be spent on something that will benefit more people. I almost fell off my chair when I heard about the six-digit cost and with that, I refuse to believe that the logo below was done by an advertising agency.

A second grade student can think of that.Ü Agree?
There is something about the logo that does not look right to me.

What is THIS?

I know we can do better ... it's just a matter of brainstorming in the right place guided by that one, powerful message that we want to communicate and of course, tapping the right people & spending our resources wisely. There are other ways. We just need to work harder, and with all the right intentions, I am more than willing to help.

Here I go again, blogging about majorly random and trivial things ...

  • I think someone's hacked my Yahoo! Messenger account. UH-OH.
It's time to change my password! After X years, I logged back to this particular Yahoo! e-mail address and for the past half hour,
I can't seem to figure out how to change my Yahoo! password.

  • The past 2 weeks at work have been mostly about Feng Shui. We've moved floors and wanting to get our best directions, my team & I + most of our workmates were into Kua Numbers. And with that, I've been semi-regularly checking my horoscope. Today's horoscope was something very positive & made me smile. It sort of answers some of my questions to things that I would like to do in the immediate future. Let me share the good vibes.Ü
Picture where you want to be and who you want to be with -- consider your family and what you want for them too. It's time for a brighter beginning. You could really benefit a lot from more positive thinking, and there is a strong energy coming into your life that could help you make that transition. Visualize the brightest future you can possibly imagine. Don't worry about falling short of expectations; it's important to keep your focus on the bright side.
  • "It's time for a brighter beginning.... and there is a strong energy coming into your life that could help you make that transition."
I love it!Ü It probably IS time to make that BIG MOVE. I can't talk about it yet, but I'm definitely hoping for the best.

I'm curious, how many mobile phones do u have?
I have two: one for GLOBE & the other is for my SMART number. I don't know what other stuff you'd want to know, but since we're on the topic, might as well share some more.Ü

I have a separate number for close friends and family. And there's a phone that I use just for work ─ my rest time is sacred so this phone is switched off after work hours.

    Ask me anything.Ü

I am so so sorry that I've been MIA lately. I've been awfully busy with pre-work requirements & paperwork. Aside from that, my Mom's sister from the United States is here in Manila for a vacation. I am almost never home.

I absolutely -ed my Sunday! My friends and I decided to have a few drinks after all the yummy Taco Salad, Abby's delish Quesadilla, and delicious Maki that we ate at the bazaar in Tahanan Village. Conversations are usually interesting and bring much delight. They can be funny and level-up to funnier.

This story was shared tonight; it really happened to one of our ATEs. Our Ate and her boyfriend were exchanging text messages. One part of the text conversation goes like this:

    TEXT 1: LOL!
    TEXT 2: Ulul ka rin!
I was amused! For sure it wasn't generation gap. Times haves surely changed. I would probably get the same reply + will definitely be scolded if I text-ed my Mom and told her, "LOL Mom!". If we pick up from there, we'll see how much language has evolved. Yup, we were talking about that. Sounds geeky huh?

Through time, communication has become a little complicated in a slightly confusing way - which does not seem to be good because if this were the case, it actually defeats the purpose of verbal interaction. However, we really do not have that much of a choice because the "development" is a global thing so either we update ourselves so we can cope with the changing times or we just shrug it off. You guys might find the next things hilarious, but please bear with me. No, my friends and I are not losers. People like us exist and there are most likely a lot of other peeps out there who are like us too.Ü

So on Sunday evening, my friends and I got a grasp of these "short cuts". We were discovering and exploring this lingo that is practically very much alien to us. We promised ourselves that we will update each other each time we learn something new. We do know LOL and OMG, but it IS time to pick up something new. We learned these:

    OMW On My Way
    BV Bad Vibes
    GL Good Luck
    AMP Amputa!
    BFF Best Friends Forever
    FML Fuck My Life
    IDK I Don't Know
    FTW Fuck The World
    ROFL Rolling On Floor Laughing
    LMAO Laughing My Ass Off

It does not stop there.Ü If you'd notice, my list is really short, only shows how little my friends and I know about this lingo. If you have something that you can pass on to me, I would really love to learn from you. It will be much appreciated.

    ---
    This is insane.Ö I wrote this at 4:45AM because I can't sleep.
I will try to get some ZzZzz now. Good Morning!Ü

Take time to appreciate simple joys in life. I am always a sucker for a good massage. When I am out of town, I make sure that I get a mean one. I don't mind shelling out some more dough for a something totally de-stressing and pleasant. When I am here, in the beautiful South, I still get my massage --- home massage or these spa places in malls, name it, if it’s decent and really okay, I’d go for it. But I am one lucky girl. Uh-huh. Living in THE South gives me a lot of choices from something high-end and something at the middle. Aside from the home service thingies, we do have awesome massage places here that give quality service + reasonable rates. Also, please take note that these places are decent which means that if you are looking for something sneaky and really low, you will just get disappointed. There is no such thing as "extra service", if you know what I mean.

So where is this massage place that I am talking about? It is along Aguirre Avenue, before N-Lo’s and across the carwash slash drinkie spot. D and I would go to Sesitra, at least thrice a month. This happens when I don't want to get a massage at home + it is a bit late already + it is a spur of the moment thing...

Their rooms have the right amount of soft glow. Thank God because I totally disdain fluorescent lights. They also provide soothing scents and noise is kept to a minimum. Actually, I don’t recall a time when the place was noisy. They have made the room as quiet as possible for the maximum massage effect.

Aside from the rejuvenating and relaxing benefits that I get, what I love about Sesitra is that they have my perfect therapist there. Of course I am picky when it comes to this matter. I am also this fussy when it comes to my hair. I don’t just get a haircut wherever, in the same way that I would not want to be massaged by whoever. After several “trial and error” moments, as I said, I have found the perfect therapist for me. Her name is Noreen and she is my perpetual therapist. Setting aside my personal criteria, Noreen’s overall performance is notable. She understands what I mean when I tell her to put more pressure. She is not scared to give me a hard massage and Noreen definitely remembers and does my massage preferences.

I am raving… It is so obvious. Seriously, I reco Sesitra to you guys. Their prices are not fixed because these vary with the service that you choose. It would be best to check the list of services with the Reception. I would also recommend that you call first for an appointment before going there. They are fully-booked most of the time. Time for me to go to bed, goodnight.

    -----
PS. I hope you find the perfect therapist. BUT if you seem to have a difficult time finding her, you can always ask for Noreen

Better to call first before going there.

I have not been sleeping well for the last four nights. Take note, that's four straight nights. I know I have always been an insomniac, not clinically diagnosed, but I am a self-confessed insomniac... or since birth! I would be able to sleep only if:

    1. I take my sleep aids.
    2. OR if I had something to drink. A glass of wine or two will do.

So, as you see, both are not good! I have been trying so hard to stay away from my sleep aids, even if they're prescribed by my doctors. I have not Googled if this feeling of not being able to sleep is related to the thyroid. Oooh. I am going to be so dead the next time I meet my doctors. Ayayay. Lagot talaga.

I hope everyone had a fab Friday the 13th!Ü I will be sleeping soon... just waiting for the delivery from McDonalds. How sinful! Goodnight guys, sweet dreams. Ate Carrie, I ♥ you. I am smiling now.Ü

I am counting the days 'til next week! I got it all planned -- lab tests again, random gym visits so I could finally pick the place which will be my second home for the time being, a "date" with my doctors.... I don't think they'll be that pleasant since I intentionally missed my February check-up. Uh-oh. If I will be lucky, I wish to be allowed to box.

Yes! I want to box again. I put on some weight because of the meds that I am taking. I even intend to ask my doctors if they can change the medicines. Last October, one of them said that the new medicine was supposed to help increase my metabolism, but I don't think that is happening the slightest bit. I totally do not like the extra weight despite doctors telling me that it is THE NORMAL WEIGHT and regardless of friends telling me I look okay... Honestly, I think some of them are just being polite.

Mom does not want me to do anything strenuous still. She thinks boxing is. But between the gym and boxing, I'll find some peace with boxing. I will be happier with boxing. Going to the gym bores me. I just want to box again. I want the feeling that the world contracts to the sharp sound of the bag against my glove, even if I still punch like a girl. I want to feel my calves burn and burn and I lose my breath. And when I stumble into the car or in my room or where ever, afterward, exhausted AND elated that I have hardly the strength to lift a glass. Hahahaha. I want to feel my shoulders ache again.

Boxing alone makes me feel wild + jagged + satisfied. The gym makes me feel quiet + dim + bored. D would most likely tell me that I cannot just do boxing. I know he'll tell me that I need to find something that will do well with boxing to balance all my opposing parts. Do you think that beach will do?Ü The gym isn't really the place for me.

So far, these are my choices – geographical compatibility with my house has been considered. I just have to see how both of them look like:

    1. Red Lane. as recommended by my friend, Jonah. I can't quite remember if that is the exact name of the place.
    2. Elorde. Not only is Bai a super good friend of my brother-dearest, but I think Elorde Boxing has already branched out.
