Don't Rush.Ü
This is what I’ve been telling myself. Do things in their own time, not mine. For most of my life I've been an exemplary type a personality ─ the fastest at everything I took on. After my surgery and since I left my old job February this year, I have been trying to take on less things in a day. And what i do take on, I let them happen. I try not to push them. This being slow seems so good for the soul. I admire yogis and monks for their balance ... for their solitude and willingness to be rather than to do. I'm not saying that I'm there yet, but traveling slowly in that direction feels right, feels good.
Somehow doing these slow things, being slow, is okay. It's just fine and allows me to see that I don’t need to be so caught up in the electronic speed of life. Life, in its essence has its own speed, which can be no speed at all.

I was playing around and practicing a bit last night. I saw these comic-ish uploads in Facebook, which I've been wanting to do for the longest time. My friend, who was tagged in that album, told me that it's a MAC program. But hey, I'm sure that IT CAN BE DONE in Photoshop.Ü

This is my very first comic thingie attempt.
That's D, my "model" :) And it looks like I found something that will keep me busy. This is going to be fun, I just need to practice some more.

This was my inspiration. It really doesn't have a white border, that's just my sloppy cropping.Ö I can not use gradients all the time right?

Thanks for the smiles today! and I like the white border, even if it's an accident.
LOL. Thank you too.
It looks good here because my blog has a dark background. Happy Weekend :)
:) i like taking it sloooowwwwwww too... for now,at least. during those times, i get to think about real priorities.
I notice that here in HK, I dunno why everyone's rushing, walking fast, running to get a bus, pushing to the train and (eating fast, too?) pati ako nadadamay na rin, haha - why hurry when you already know where you going, diba?
I actually like what you did, good job! It looks humurous kaya lang baka magreklamo yung nasa pishture, haha. Don't forget to watermark it.
I've always wanted to learn Photoshop, kaso lagi wala time or tinatamad. Here's one resource I'd saved up long ago but never tried. http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photoshop-blog/2008/04/01/100-wonderful-photo-effects-photoshop-tutorials/
The retro comic book effect looks very interesting.
Thats not bad.. For me, I've trying to use my photoshop application but the only I can do is resize and cropping of pictures... hehehe...
Taking things slow, hmmmm, that made me think...
WHIA.
We need those moments once in a while. Walk, instead of run :)
K.
Onga. People in HK are like the people in NY. They're always rushing and yes, I noticed too that they eat fast.
Thanks for the reminder, I always forget to watermark my photos.Ö
RICO.
If you have time, it would be great to learn Photoshop. It's actually fun. You can take lessons in PCCI ─ Philippine Center For Creative Imaging.
I learned the basics in college, then took up an advanced course in PCCI and the rest, I'm learning on my own.Ü So go, enrol na :)
Thanks for the link.
I'll visit it. For sure, there will be new learnings and discoveries for me.
AXEL.
I think we all start there .. basic cropping and resizing. After that, you can go experiment some more. Happy Weekend!
Hmmm, kaso nakakalimutan ko na... Wala kasing practice eh... ehehe
i want to learn the comic strip thing! ang cuuuuute! :)
hi russ..nice. it's hard to be slow especially if you're so used to the pressure and hype. between uncle sam and RP, i love RP's pace better. kaya siguro mas happy ang peeps sa tin, because there's balance, you can do both. here, hirap mag slow down, it's like you're always running against time.
have you tried doing the ooom? meditation yoga style? i haven't tried it since it's so slow although I want to.
btw, I've deleted my little feats. if u have time, my main blog is http://www.avsphere.com. fickle me. thanks!
I don't mind the white border, it's pretty cool, I actually like it hahaha...
Taking life easy, is really something I've learned from Boyfriend and work!
loves
AXEL.
Hope you find time one of these days. Happy Weekend :)
IVY.
Though mejo madaming steps,
it's easy lang.
...^^v....
Nope, haven't tried ooom.Ö
I actually wanna try yoga, but I don't think there's a yoga place in my area ─ they're all in Makati.
TOOTHFAIRY.
I'll include a white border next time. The white border looks better on a dark background, like my blog.Ü
I hope so... Gusto ko talaga magpa-SPA, gusto mo sumama?? Wensha tayo??
I heard from friends mejo filthy in Wensha.Ö
that is a virtue i have yet to master, ate russ. i'm glad you're doing it well. :]
ei, nice comicbook photos! i wanna try it (feeling photoshop geek) xD
Where can I download Photoshop? Is it for free?
WEDNESDAY.
Super napa-smile naman ako sa comment mo. Thank you dear.Ü Yan ang nagagawa pag walang trabaho. Haha. Actually, it's fun. It's my stress-reliever and I have the perfect excuse to always take photos. I need a lot of photos, new & different pictures, so I can work on different "projects".
manik_reigun.
Super easy lang nya gawin kase text lang naman halos yung idadagdag, pag mejo ganado ka, puede rin ayusin yung image :)
VAYIE.
Try Torrent dear.
An ex of mine took a course there too.
I do plan to study next year so save mode kami ni misis. I'm hoping to get into UP's ITTC.
