Last Saturday, another typhoon hit our country. This time, Manila was also affected. I hate Typhoon SANTI, aka Mirinae more ─ compared to Typhoon Ondoy that hit our city last September 26. Last Saturday, was the first time I experienced not being able to sleep because I was so scared of the winds, they were practically howling! I had needed to finish something that I was supposed to send via e-mail early the following morning, but I wasn't able to work that night because the lights went out around 3AM and it was pitch dark, but good thing it was back after 3 hours. I was up the whole time and was only able to get some ZzzZz at 6AM. I had my earphones on, max volume so I won't hear the winds anymore.
I don't like typhoons ─ period. Look what it did to the trees in the village of my friend | Photo #2. I wish typhoon season would be over.

I was in Eastwood when the storm landed. Walking against the violent winds was one of the scariest things I've done so far during the storm. To think, I was carrying pretty heavy stuff then and I felt like I'm gonna be thrown up and hurled in the air.
I've never experienced a typhoon, but I generally love "powerful" weather. Fierce thunderstorms and ferocious blizzards, extreme cold (though less and less as I age). The only extreme weather I have experienced that I hate is hot and humid - ugh.
I can't deny I would love to experience a typhoon or hurricane one day. Of course, I would also love to trek across the Antarctic too.
They said it's El Nino, but my god enough is enough with these typhoons and all.
I def hate typhoons, rain, and thunderstorms, these weather makes me sad.
When I was a kid, whenever I hear this loud roll of thunder, I thought to myself that God was mad at those kids who don't take a nap at 1pm.
And because I hated to go to sleep, I never liked thunder and rain EVER.

Sorry for not being around last month. Habol ako promise.
I can't believe we're struck with 3 storms in a month! It was really scary.
Wasn't able to sleep either! I was lying awake the whole time staring at the violently swaying mango tree outside my window because I was worried it might get uprooted and crash into my room! Hahaha!
Honga. I think we've had our fair share of typhoons this year. Hope the Christmas weather is double the quality this time around!
u know what, this is actually one of the worst years philippines have. the weather is getting nastier...blame it on global warming.
I hated this typhoon too. I slept at past 3 in the morning and then the lights went out. I couldn't sleep because the strong winds scared the crap out of me. I was afraid that our coconut tree would be uprooted and fall on our roof. I've never felt my heart beat so fast!
I work here in Makati and when Santi hit that morning..my goodness...people arent scared of the trees falling or anything...people are scared of windows being potential swords from the sky because of the wind.
oh my goodness, i have never witnessed anything like this
ROANNE.
Oh dear, were you on a gimmick when Santi hit Manila?
RICHARD.
I think humid weather is way better than having a typhoon almost every week. Santi aka Mirinae was the third typhoon that hit the Philippines in a months time.
CHARLES.
El Niño for real? It doesn't feel like it, at all! :(
K.
Maybe a lot of kids no longer take a nap at 1PM.Ü Hahaa. That was sooo cute K!
Same here, they make me sad too. There's a Will Smith movie ─ with a "queen" and they say that it rains whenever she's sad or something like that.
BABY BOY.
Yes, 3 storms. Almost devastating and quite depressing and sobrang hassle.
BEN-ARIEL.
I always pray for good weather now, always included in my prayers now. I hope we don't experience typhoons this Christmas.
...^^v....
True that, but I really wouldn't blame it on Global Warming. We all know that we're all responsible for climate change :)
NINA.
OH MY! Same here, my heart was also beating soooo fast and I really couldn't sleep, my mom was starting to get irked coz I keep waking her up each time I'd hear the winds "howl".
HUMANBULLSHIT.
That's scary. You were at work pala at that time.Ö
PinkBow.
Well, all these used not to happen here.Ö Hate these typhoons.
As I said, I've never experienced one and it is something I would like to experience. I find the power of Nature awesome.
Of course, after experiencing it, I may decide once is more than enough ;-)
I personally saw that Meralco post that tumbled along Buendia Avenue. You'd wonder how the wind could blow something as huge as that. I thought that our roof would just fly off (our house isn't that sturdy so we were praying the whole time). And besides, it felt like I'd be hurled off to the South China Sea when I wake up. Scary talaga.
I live in the states now but every year we still have to pray that no strong hurricane would come and hit us. I live near New Orleans and I'm sure you've heard about the devastation of hurricane Katrina 4 years ago... Onething is for sure, when mother nature shows her wrath, nobody could escape.
It's still better here though because the government helps and people has insurance policies for their properties unlike there in the Philippines. And they detect a hurricane weeks before it hits giving us time to evacuate.
