Food, like a loving touch or a glimpse of divine power,
has that ability to comfort. → Norman Kolpas
That may have been a bit too literal, but it's very appropriate for Girls Talk theme today: COMFORT FOOD. "Comfort" is a pretty vague term, it can vary from one person to another, but I think we all know what it should be.

The mere mention of Comfort Food puts a smile on my face. A clear and vivid image of my favorite PHO SOUP with tons of seafood pops in my head. It's simple, believe it or not -- invigorating, delish, and most of all, healthy. How in the world could I resist that?

Seafood PHO
It's something that I would definitely have any time of the day. I couldn't explain why, but after having a bowl of it, I feel energized and really happy with this natural high kind of feeling. I forget about how tired I am or how awful my day was ... and that for me, is priceless :)

haha i never thought of PHO to be healthy food ! over here they load it up with MSG and all kind of unmentionable things ! but it's soo good

comfort food for me definitely has to land in the "unhealthy food" category. eating healthy just isn't satisfying ! haha

i have yet to try pho! i heard it was really good. it's actually my boyfriend's second favorite food... after ramen that is. i dunno what the difference is though HAHA!

speaking of food, i did think that the balut tasted OKAY... i mean, ive tasted better food before... but balut isn't so bad.

DAWN.
If it's something that your mom has made, it definitely should be good. My Mom makes the best soup too!

It depends which restaurant makes it. It's clear soup, definitely a better choice compared to cream-based soups. Not all PHOs are loaded with MSG and not all comfort food have to be unhealthy.

There is not absolute definition of comfort food. What I find to be a comfort food, it could be different for another person.

PHO and Ramen uses different kinds of noodles. PHO is from Vietnamn and Ramen is from Japan. And both of them are delish!

If you eat beef, the first time you have PHO, go for beef first. It's tastier compared to seafood. But there's this Vietnamese Chili Sauce, put loads of that and it makes your Pho taste even better .. that is, if you dig spicy food :)

Beef is tastier.
Seafood is healthier. Make sure you put loads of that Vietnamese Chili Sauce, it makes the Pho experience a million times better :)

AXEL.
It's Vietnamese.

Cafe Breton is a crepe lover's heaven.Ü I also recommend the Excalibur in Breton, best eaten with extra tomatoes, onions, and a lot of Tabasco.

Are you a fan of sriracha sauce? I always have an open bottle in the fridge and the next one ready in a cabinet.

I guess I have heard of Seafood PHO on some other food bloggies--looks yummy to me and healthy, too.Would love to try them someday para maiba naman.Sawa na rin kasi ako sa greasy ramen and yes loaded sa calorie!lol!

Bingo! I shall not forget that the Vietnamese Chili Sauce that I like is called SRIRACHA, thanks Rick! :)

CLANG.
It is.Ü It usually has Shrimp, Fish, Squid, and some Crabstick. Most of the calories come from the noodles, but hey we need 'em once in a while for energy.

Sorry for being MIA the past weeks. With my Mom's sister from the States visiting and all my pre-employment requirements, I've been swamped!

And hey, I don't have a husband.
I'm not married.

comfort na comfort food nga yan! and it's a very healthy option too.. with the seafood and all. perfect for the cold season!

i miss udon... that's my comfort food in japan..

mmm, pho does sound good right now! mostly because it's cold and rainy here. i tend to eat really fattening food and lots of carbs when i need comfort food. whenever my boyfriend goes out of town i find myself binge eating entire boxes of annie's organic white cheddar mac n cheese. come on kim, just because it's organic doesn't mean it's healthy. but it just feels so right in the moment! :)

I have no idea what that is but it looks so delicious on the photo *drools* Makes me wanna eat now! RAWR!
